Roadform Ltd have successfully completed the civil works contract to the Bandon Wastewater Treatment Plant in Co. Cork, which involved the upgrade of the existing  facilities to provide for enhanced wastewater treatment capacity at the plant improving the quality of the treated water out-falling to the river Bandon.

Phase 1 of this contract comprised of demolition works at the existing live pump station together with the diversion of the existing flows from the town and construction of the new reinforced concrete pump station structures at a depth in excess of 10m, involving extensive associated temporary works. All works were carried out within the confines of a highly restrictive and sensitive site. Temporary works design and installation of the required equipment was carried out by Roadform Ltd at the environmentally sensitive site adjacent to the River Bandon and various residential properties.

Phase 2 of the works was located at the existing waste water treatment plant site and included the construction of new reinforced concrete structures including reinforced concrete storm tanks, Control, Sludge and Substation Buildings, internal pipelines and all associated structures and services.

Pipeline construction included 1200mm Ø concrete outfall pipeline crossing the N71 to the Bandon River, 400mm Ø Ductile Iron rising main pipelines on the public road at the N71 and PE pipelines within the WWTP and Pump Station sites.

The project was completed without any LTI’s over the two year construction period.
