Construction Project – Colaiste Mhuire, Buttevant, Co.Cork

Minister Of State Sean Sherlock, Donal O’Sullivan Principle of Colaiste Mhuire Buttevant and Ted Owens CEO Cork ETB performing the official “turning of the sod” marking the commencement of construction on the site of the new €6.5 million state of the art campus for Colaiste Mhuire, Buttevant, Co.Cork.

On the 21st of July 2014 Roadform Ltd commenced works on the new Secondary School Colaiste Mhuire in Buttevant, Co, Cork on behalf of K&J Townmore Construction Ltd.
Roadform Ltd were awarded the Civils works for the 2-storey post-primary school for 325 pupils of approximately 4,385sqm, comprising classrooms, laboratories, other teaching spaces, a special needs unit, a PE Hall, social areas, administration rooms, stores, toilets and other ancillary spaces, with outdoor courts, car parking and associated site works, including a new site entrance with adjustment of the road boundary of the adjacent site to the west, and modification to the southern end of the old barracks wall, a protected structure, to the east.

Junior Minister, Sean Sherlock, performed the sod-turning ceremony for the school which will be managed by the Cork Education and Training Board (ETB). When the 4,384 sq metre school opens in September 2015, it will boast specialist lecture rooms, music and dance workshops, along with science laboratories, a multimedia learning laboratory, a library, prayer/meditation room, multi-sensory room, PE hall and fitness suite.

Construction work is expected to be completed by September 2015.
