Roadform Ltd have completed the civil works contract on this project in Millstreet, Co. Cork on behalf of Irish Water and Cork County Council.

The project involved the decommissioning of the existing wastewater treatment processes, which have been replaced with a modern wastewater treatment plant constructed on lands adjacent to the original plant. The new wastewater treatment plant can cater for a future population equivalent of 3,220PE and was required as the existing plant was operating beyond its design capacity.  The new plant will provide increased treatment capacity and facilitate future development within the town. This project will improve water quality in the local Tanyard Stream and River Finnow.

The works carried out by Roadform Ltd involved construction of all new Wastewater Plant structures allowing for the increased treatment capacity at the plant. The structures included reinforced concrete tanks, Pump Station, Control and Substation Building, and all associated drainage and services, etc. Pipeline construction included installation of PE outfall pipeline along 2km of the public road at Station Road in Millstreet as well as all site pipework and ducting.

The project was completed without any LTI’s over the two year construction period.
